I finished the Civil War era cavalry sword that I was making for one of my skeleton soldiers to wield in the cemetery. The whole thing is basically made from foam with a metal rod running the entire length. The metal rod that I used is about twice the diameter of the stronger type of coat hanger. Hopefully it is light enough that I can connect a deer motor to it and have the skeleton appear to raise and lower it.
