I started corpsing all of my foam pumpkins. This is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. I start by spraying the pumpkin with spay adhesive and then applying unrolled cotton balls along it’s ridges.
I then coat the pumpkin with liquid latex. I use the Mold Builder latex that I get Michael’s Crafts.
Once the latex is dry, I paint the pumpkin with a base coat of black spray paint. I keep the paint from entering the inside of the pumpkin by inserting a balloon in one of eye or nose holes, blowing it up and then tying it off. Once the paint, is dry I will puncture the balloon and remove it from the pumpkin.
I then begin dry brushing the pumpkin with several different shades of brown and orange, working from the darkest color to the lightest. Here is my “pumpkin palette”.
Here is a side by side before and after shot.
